The best places to eat in Sozopol

The best restaurants in Sozopol

Finding a place to eat with an amazing sea view in Sozopol is an easy thing. Finding a place with an amazing view and delicious meals is not so easy.

For dining out I prefer the Old Town of Sozopol. It is the calmer part of the city and the small cobbled streets are ideal for a walk after dinner. There are also many restaurants where you can watch the sunset while you dine. Check out my list of the best restaurants in Sozopol to find out which are the good places to eat in the town.

Windmill (Vyatarna Melnitsa)

Windmill a traditional Bulgarian restaurant with magnificent views over St. Ivan Island. Do you want to watch the sunset while you dine with some delicious Bulgarian food? This is the place. They have a folklore program in the evening, too.

Address: 27 Morski Skali Str.
Opening hours: Every day: 10:00 AM – 00:00

This salad is called a Shepherd’s salad. It contains cucumbers, tomatoes, red peppers, Bulgarian cheese, ham and eggs.

One of my favourite salads here is the Boss’s salad. They prepare it with tomatoes, Bulgarian cheese and roasted red peppers. In any case don’t miss to try some Bulgarian cheese. I am a huge fan of it and I eat it with almost everything. It tastes a little bit like Feta cheese.

This is a chicken Shish kebab. The dish is well known in Turkey, but here in Bulgaria we have it, too. The Shish kebab consists of grilled cube meats with vegetables between them. Yummy!

Many traditional meals in Bulgaria are prepared in earthenware dish. This meal is made with chicken pieces, mushrooms and Bulgarian yellow-cheese. The latter is specific food for my country and I can’t liken it to anything. Just try it, you will love it!

If you want some bread along with your meal, choose this flatbread with Bulgarian cheese.

Although baklava is a Turkish desert, it is common in Bulgaria, too. For those who haven’t tried it yet, the baklava is a pastry filled with walnuts and sweetened with syrup.  It is unbelievably tasty!

As I told you the views are awesome.

Ginny bar

It is not a place to eat, but I can’t miss to mention it. It is one of my favourite spots for cocktails. Ginny bar is located on the Central beach in the Old Town of Sozopol. You can enjoy stunning views of the town and the sea while drinking your favourite cocktails and listening to rock music.

There are tables placed directly on the beach just few metres from the water. You can feel the breeze while listening to the sounds of the sea mixed with rock music. So if you like rock music this is your place.
