Hotel Domstern: Home away from home
My absolutely favourite place to stay at in Cologne is hotel Domstern. Although located a few steps from the Central train station and the famous Cologne cathedral, the hotel overlooks a quiet street. During my stay the staff was very kind and everyone spoke English. On arrival the receptionist gave me a free map of the city and pointed the main streets and landmarks. I stayed in a double room, very small but nice with a cozy bed. There was a safe and unlimited free Wi-Fi in the room. I just loved the little package of jelly sheep, which I was finding every day on the pillow.
The breakfast room was very small but the breakfast was exceptionally delicious with a homemade nutella, butter, bread and jam. Each day there was a different country theme and they served tasty foods from the chosen country. On each table the staff provided a little booklet (in German and English) full with ideas for interesting places in the city and even the weather forecast. If I come back to Cologne someday I will certainly stay at this hotel.
