Travel resources

Like every traveller I have my favourite tools for planning trips. On this page you can find all websites and tools that I use. As I don’t like to go through countless sites, I have few favourite ones and I stick to them.

Flights

Skyscanner Skyscanner – this is the best flight search engine for me. My favourite feature is that you can search for flights without a specific destination or even dates. I use Skyscanner for a search, but then go and book through the airline’s official website.

Google Flights Google Flights – another great flight search engine. I love their map where you can browse through thousands of flights over the world.

Ryanair  Ryanair – my all time favourite low-cost airline. Their prices simply can’t be beaten.

Accommodation

Booking.comBooking.com – this is the best website for booking a hotel. It offers great deals and has one of the largest listing of hotels. I like the fact that you can leave a review of a certain hotel only if you have stayed there.

AirbnbAirbnb – if you want to book an apartment, this is your place. You can book short-term an apartment and live as a local for few days (or weeks). Sign up here, to get free credit on your first stay.

Planning an itinerary

DK Eyewitness travel guides DK Eyewitness travel guides (see them on Amazon UKAmazon DE) – I tried a lot of different travel guides in the past, but these ones are my favourite.

TripadvisorTripadvisor – I always take a look at the section “Things to do” for a certain city.

Google maps engineGoogle maps engine – I use it to make a map of the itinerary and to combine the sites in days.

Eating out

FoursquareFoursquare – I use it to search for nice restaurants where one can try some local food.

Tours

ViatorViator – it has a great range of awesome organized tours and activities worldwide.

Insurance

Allianz Travel InsuranceAllianz Travel Insurance – every time I travel I make an insurance. You never know what could happen. I have always used Allianz and I am pleased with them.

Foreign languages

DuolingoDuolingo – Before visiting a country I try to learn a little of its native language. Duolingo is my favourite tool to do that.

Blogging

BluehostBluehost – if you want to start a blog, this is the web hosting I use and recommend.
