Where to stay in Sozopol? What are the best hotels in Sozopol Old Town?
Sozopol is a small town with a very old history and beautiful beaches. Its Old Town has a quaint charm. Ancient ruins, standing next to little wooden houses, create a unique atmosphere.
I love the Old Town of Sozopol. Its one of my favourite places on the Black Sea Coast. The cobbled streets, the locals that sell fig jam in front of their houses, the seagulls’ caws, all that peace have sealed deeply in my mind.
If you really want to feel the vibe of the Old Sozopol, I’d recommend you to stay in a hotel in Sozopol Old Town. The area is quiet as most of the bars are in the New Town. Besides, the Old Town is full of charming little restaurants serving delicious seafood and Bulgarian delicacies. And the best part is that the hotels’ prices aren’t higher compared to the New Town.
Where I stayed
Every time I visit Sozopol I stay at one and the same place – hotel Fjord. I found this lovely family hotel during my first trip to Sozopol.
Fjord is situated in a quiet area between the Old and the New Town. Although it’s not in the Old Town, you can easily reach it in 10 minutes walk. It is also strategically located between the two main beaches in Sozopol – Harmani and Central beach.
The thing that I really love about this hotel is its location. It is right above the cliffs, so you can hear the waves during the night. It’s one of the most romantic places I’ve ever been!
