Although I didn’t travel at all, the first three months of 2017 were great. They brought a lot of positive changes in my life.
Where I have been
I love winter, but it is not my favourite season for travelling. So during the last few months, I was focused on working, snowboarding and planning new trips. I spend most of my time being a tourist in my home city, Sofia.
I quit my job
On the first working day of the year, I gave my resignation letter with three months notice period. Yup, three months. It is almost over, but it felt like ages. Guys, I haven’t been happier for years. The feeling of freedom is overwhelming. Find out more about how I decided to quit my job and travel.
I spend few weekends snowboarding
I love to live in Sofia, Bulgaria. The main reason is that you need less than an hour to get to Vitosha mountain (this includes the 30 minutes lift ride). So if you are a winter sports lover, the city is an awesome place to live in.
I visited few interesting museums in my home city, Sofia
Although I have been living in this city for almost 15 years, there are a lot of museums I haven’t been to yet. Thus my goal for the next months is to visit most of them.
I tried an absinthe cotton candy cocktail with lavender
If you are searching for a place in Sofia with interesting cocktails and nice music, go to Sputnik Bar. This is my all time favourite cocktail bar in the city.
New travel companion
I had to change my old travel companion – Sven, the sheep. During the last trip to Vienna, he ate so many ginger cookies that it is impossible for me to carry him in my bag anymore. He is heavy and takes a lot of space. So I decided to find a smaller companion. Let me introduce him to you. This is Bjorn – a teddy bear with a Danish name. His name means “bear”.
Where I stayed
With a lack of any trips, this was the only bed I slept in every night. At least it was comfy!

What I read
The Original Folk and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm: The Complete First Edition
I love dark fairy tales and I wanted to read this book for years. All I can say – it is amazing. In any case, don’t read it to your kids. There is too much violence in it.
What games I played
World of Warcraft
I love, love this game and probably won’t stop playing it soon.
Ticket to Ride
I finally tried this board game and fell in love with it immediately. The rules are easy and simple and you don’t need a whole day to finish one game (as it is with Game of Thrones).
What I watched
The big bang theory
Funny series about few scientists.
One of my favourite series ever. The story tells about the famous viking Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons.
Another favourite series. The story is about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) and his partner Watson (Martin Freeman).
The man on the high castle
If you are interested in the WWII, don’t miss it. The series tells what could have happened if Germany and Japan have won the war.
The series is a prequel to Psycho. If you are into this genre, you will love the series.
Making a murderer
It’s a documentary series about Steven Avery, who served 18 years in prison for a wrongful conviction.
The Huntsman: Winter’s War
A movie that tells the story of the Ice Queen from a different angle.
What I listened to
Last months I was under the influence of Parov Stelar, Saint Saviour, Tom Odell, Ed Sheeran and Eddie Vedder. Check out below my favourite songs during the last months.
Daniel Fernandes – After All
Parov Stelar – All night
Lo Air – Day And Night
Lilly Wood & The Prick – Prayer in C
Straight Line Stitch – What You Do To Me
Breaking Benjamin – I Will Not Bow
The White Buffalo – Oh Darlin’ What Have I Done
Walking On Cars – Speeding Cars
Walking On Cars – Winter Song
Saint Saviour – I Remember
Eddie Vedder – Long nights
Tom Odell – Magnetised
Ed Sheeran – Castle On The Hill
Charlie Puth – We Don’t Talk Anymore
Dream Koala – Saturn Boy
Sometimes you just need an adventure to cleanse the bitter taste of life from your soul.
Favourite travel blogger
I needed an inspiration, so I spend quite some time reading Project Inspo. This is the travel blog of the lifestyle photographer Jinna Yang, a girl from New York City. No matter if you search for travel or life inspiration, you will find it on her blog.
